Stalin threatens to move Supreme Court, CEC against CEO

Stalin alleged, cautioning that they were collecting evidence against the official

Chennai: Accusing state chief electoral officer Sandeep Saxena of “working hand in glove with the ruling AIADMK”, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin on Saturday said that his party men who are alive have been treated as 'dead’ and removed from electoral rolls.

Addressing the party’s “justice seeking rally” attended by over three lakh cadres at Cuddalore, Stalin read out four names in particular from a paper he claimed to be Form-7 (used to remove names of deceased voters) documents and alleged that they were DMK supporters in Poonamallee Assembly constituency who had been treated as dead and removed from the electoral rolls. As if reading out the voters ID card numbers and addresses were not sufficient, the DMK treasurer even paraded the four voters.

Stalin also claimed that the CEO had told his legal wing secretaries who went to petition him about the irregularities in voters roll revision recently, that his hand was tied. “He is caught (in something) and hence bending for the ruling AIADMK,” Stalin alleged, cautioning that they were collecting evidence against the official. “Soon, we will move the Supreme Court and the Chief Election Commissioner against the CEO,” he said.
