Air quality test partial in Hyderabad

Hyderabad citizens cannot check pollution levels in the main city area
Hyderabad: Hyderabad citizens cannot check pollution levels in the main city area even though it has been more than three months since the central government launched the Air Quality Index website.
The Telangana State Pollution Control Board has four air pollution monitoring stations in the city but only data from Sanathnagar is visible on the Air Quality Index website. To get a clear idea of pollution in the city, values from air pollution monitoring station in Panjagutta has to be displayed on the AQI website. Air pollution is recorded the highest from Panjagutta station, mainly because of the high amount of vehicular pollution as the main pollutants recorded here are PM10, Nitrogen Oxide and Carbon Monoxide.
The AQI values at Panjagutta are always recorded to be 150 and above which is categorized as ‘moderate’ and sometimes crosses 200, falling in ‘poor’ air quality category. The Sanathnagar station has values lower than 100. Other stations located in city are at University of Hyderabad and Hyderabad zoo apart from one at Pashamylaram in Medak district.
