22 pilgrims die in separate accidents
Six persons drowned at Pushkar ghats
Kakinada: As many as 22 Pushkaralu pilgrims were killed in separate incidents as all towns along the Godavari saw unprecedented rush on Saturday. Six persons drowned at Pushkar ghats in AP in three separate incidents at ghats at Gedellanka in Mummidivaram mandal, Devipatnam mandal and Sakhinetipalli mandal.
Two persons from Srikakulam district were killed and one injured in a road accident at Neeladriraopet in Gandepalli in a motorcycle accident. In Komeripalem of Denduluru mandal, two pilgrims were run over by a lorry. One person died at Vullamparru village in Palakole mandal in West Godavari district. A woman was run over by a water tanker at Kovvuru.
A 75-year-old man died from a cardiac arrest at Goshpada Kshetram at Kovvur, while another succumbed at Kovvur. In TS, a family of three was killed when a lorry hit their motorcycle near Nirmal in Adilabad district. A Bhadrachalam report said one person died when he fell down from an RTC bus near Kothagudem.
