Medical courses not in the current allotment
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Medical courses have not been included in the current round of allotment to professional courses contrary to the earlier announcement. This round of allotment will only feature engineering and architecture courses.
This will be the last round for self-financing engineering and architecture courses. However, the allotment to government engineering colleges and architecture colleges and medical and allied courses will continue.
The next allotment to medical courses will be published on July 27. According to sources in the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) office, they are yet to receive the government order regarding the agreement with a few medical colleges. Hence, these colleges cannot be included in the upcoming allotment.
Earlier, it was said that the third allotment to engineering/architecture courses and the second allotment to medical and allied courses will be published on July 20. The allotment process began on Thursday.
The allotment to BTech Dairy Science and Technology course in the College of Dairy Sciences and Technology, Pookode, Wayanad and BTech Food Technology course in the College of Dairy Sciences and Technology, Mannuthy, Thrissur were withheld in the earlier phases for want of government sanction. Allotments to these colleges will also be held in the third round of allotment. The students will have the facility for filing fresh options to these colleges.
The higher options of engineering and architecture candidates, who are allotted to private self-financing engineering and architecture colleges after this round, have to be deleted after this round of allotment.
