Government to give harassment victims paid leave for 3 months

Sexual harassment committees can recommend transfer of the aggrieved woman
New Delhi: The Centre has directed that a complainant in a sexual harassment case will be allowed three months’ paid leave and she or the government employee complained against can be transferred to another department during the probe.
In fresh orders by the DoPT, the disciplinary authority was told not to dispense with inquiries in sexual harassment cases lightly or arbitrarily. The sexual harassment committees can recommend transfer of the aggrieved woman or the officer complained against, and to grant leave to the aggrieved woman up to three months, which won’t be deducted from her leave account.
