T he ACP said that there are over 15 such makeshift shops near mobile showrooms and they generally help the persons who buy new mobiles with the downloading of songs and other apps.
All were arrested for uploading the Bahubali movie in the pen-drives or memory chips and for each download they were charging Rs 50.
The accused were arrested under the Piracy Act and the cops have seized seven computer systems and a number of memory chips.
The CTF police said that the offenders confessed that the movie was downloaded from various online sites- Torrent, U Torrent, Torenz, Extra Torrent and Thirittu.com.
The cops said that the pirated copies made their way from the US into the websites and the offenders downloaded the movie and sold to others.
The cops said that newly released movies are watermarked and normally it is a tough task to pirate the movies but it seems that some overseas gangs were equipped with modern machinery and the pirated copies were crystal clear.
