Sanam Shetty in a dual role
She is hardly few films old in Tamil but the svelte Sanam Shetty has bagged an interesting dual role in her upcoming thriller titled Kalaivendhan. Directed by Parasuram, a former associate of director Hari, the movie has Ajay as the hero taking on the character of a Vovina exponent (Vietnamese martial arts). Sanam, on the other hand, will appear in two different period setups.
Talking to DC from Hyderabad where Sanam has gone for a promo of her much-hyped Tollywood film Srimanthudu with Mahesh Babu, says, “I play a modern girl who is bold and confident in the present-day scenario - while in the flashback portions set in 1970s, I portray a timid girl. Both my characters are linked through a common thread by the director.”
The actress says that she has also attempted comedy in the film, “Director Parasuram is basically a jovial person with great comic sense. He has infused a good dose of humor in the film and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole working experience.”
On working with Mahesh Babu, Sanam is naturally excited. “I think I am lucky to have bagged a film with Mahesh Babu even before my first T’town film Intinta Annamaya released! Though Shruti Haasan acts opposite him, my character is equally important. Mahesh is a very approachable and friendly co-star; I fumbled in a few places while shooting and took extra takes, but he was extremely patient and cooperative,” she says.
