Hyderabad High Court: No discharge for Prathyusha now
Hyderabad: A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt of the Hyderabad HC on Thursday asked the special counsel for the Telangana government to talk to Prathyusha, and place her views before it by Friday.
The bench was dealing with a case based on a letter by Justice Challa Kodanda Ram seeking intervention of the court to render justice to the victim.
The bench directed that the government ensure that the victim shall not be discharged from hospital until further orders.
When government special counsel S. Sharath Kumar brought to the notice of the court that her maternal aunt, a teacher, and uncle, a deputy collector, were present with Prathyusha at the hospital, the bench ordered their presence before it. Mr Kumar submitted a report informing the bench of the action taken by the police and Prathyusha’s condition.
After perusing the police report, the bench appreciated the private hospital for taking care of the victim.
Expressing concern about the future of Pratyusha, the bench asked Mr Kumar to ascertain whether the girl wants to stay with her maternal uncle or at the rescue home.
The bench said that it will pass orders based on the desire of the victim. The bench asked the government to bear her medical expenses.
The police said that Prathyusha’s condition was better. She is suffering from post traumatic stress, depression and was under treatment, the report stated.
