Bengaluru: Their cups certainly aren't spilling over, but members of Bangalore Club can drown their woes in a frosty mug of beer in the coming week - if, the court verdict goes their way.
A court ordered the Excise Department to consider renewing Bangalore Club’s beer-vending license and the management is eagerly awaiting certified copies of the judgment order, which will be out on Friday, to apply for the RVB (Retail Vend of Beer) license 2015-16. The Excise Department will now have to issue this to the club.
It was a technicality, in the end, that saved the day. The RVB license can be granted on its own, according to the Karnataka Excise Act on 1965.
