The police seized the bus and took the driver to the police station for further verification

BENGALURU: A BMTC bus driver, who allegedly had 64 traffic violation cases pending against him, ran out of luck the 65th time when he was caught by the Electronic City traffic police for parking wrongly on Wednesday morning.

The accused, Chandrappa, who drove the BMTC bus (KA 01-F-9393), was caught by Inspector Mohammed M.A. as he was blocking traffic on the main road.

After noticing the bus parked in a haphazard manner on the main road, Mr Mohammed asked Chandrappa to move the bus, but he refused to. When the officer asked him to get down from the bus, he got into an argument.

When the police officer checked the record, he found that Chandrappa was involved in 64 traffic violations since May 2014 and detained him. The police seized the bus and took the driver to the police station for further verification.

The traffic police are now thinking of impounding the driver’s licence and to recommend for suspension of his service. His violations amount to Rs 7, 000, the police said.
