Agri Intex 2015 will witness soilless tech
Coimbatore: More than 300 exhibitors are expected to display their products in more than 250 stalls at the Agri Intex 2015, the 15th edition of India’s prime agriculture trade fair to be held from July 17 to 20 at Codissia trade fair complex.
There is going to be a display of ‘aeroponics’ soilless agriculture, one of the major technologies at the fair. The fair aims to create awareness among the farmers about the techniques of soilless agriculture, considering the decline of farming land across the country, said R. Shasikumar, the chairman of Agri Intex.
Explaining about the method, K. Ramasamy, vice chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University said that this method is performed in controlled environments and set up anywhere without depending on land space and fertility.
The major focus of the expo would be on solar pumping, micro irrigation, precision farming, farm mechanisation, automation, value addition, agro marketing and animal husbandry. The fair is expected to be witnessed by over a lakh people, including farmers, students and businessmen.
