National award winning filmmaker T. Rajeev Nath, who is now heading the State Chalachitra Academy, is all set to call shots for a film to be produced on a screenplay by writer turned director Ranjith. If sources are to be believed, the film will go on floors by end of this year.
“The yet to be titled film will be satirical. The cast and crew will be decided only after the screenplay is locked in,” the sources close to the director revealed.
The pre-production work of the movie will be in full swing following the release of the Ranjith’s new directorial venture — Loham, with Mohanlal in the lead role, which is slated to release in the second week of August, the sources added.
Though this is the first time Ranjith is writing a screenplay for a Rajeev Nath movie, the writer has earlier written lyrics for Pakal Nakshatrangal directed by the latter.
