Sonia Gandhi refused to take any questions on politics

New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi united former allies of the UPA — Trinamul, NCP, DMK, and Jammu and Kashmir National Conference — besides new friend JD(U) at an iftar dinner she hosted on Monday, ahead of the crucial Monsoon Session of Parliament.
But the Samajwadi Party stayed away and the Left leaders, too, were not seen. However, the presence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and BSP representative Satish Chandra Misra was significant.
Though Mrs Gandhi refused to take any questions on politics, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi responded to some queries. Asked how he sees the session, he said, “Badhiya (Good)”.
When asked whether he meant badhiya for the Congress, Mr Gandhi said, “For the janata (people)”. He said he would raise certain issues in the Lok Sabha during the coming Parliament Session.
