Hyderabad: A 10-year-old girl, who went missing from her home after being scolded by her parents, was traced to an old age home in Trimulgherry. On Sunday, parents of the girl Sreeja, had scolded her for her poor performance in academics. Depressed, she left home and landed near a church in Vasavi Nagar.
The parents, who thought that it was a kidnap filed a complaint, but were relieved when their daughter was found.
Police said, Sreeja, 10, is the daughter of Venu Madhav, a government employee. She is studying Class V at the Delhi Public School in Sikh village. The girl was very active in academics and extracurricular activities, but had become slow since some days.
“She was very active in studies, but after the beginning of the new academic year, she became a bit careless. On Sunday night, we spoke to her and advised her to be careful in studies,” said Mr Venu Madhav.
On Monday morning, she left home and walked through the lanes, till she reached a Church in the Trimulgherry area. “Since the girl was found immediately we did not register a case. We spoke to the girl and her parents and let them go,” said Alwal SI, Rambabu.
