Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to probe the corruption within the Lokayukta would intensify the probe from Monday, as the team is already in possession of all the documents related to the scam.
It is said that the SIT would convene a meeting of all its members on Monday to discuss about the case and plan the course of investigation. “The SIT had received the files related to the case from the Lokayukta police on Friday evening. It is said that they will hold a meeting on Monday to discuss on how to go about the probe,” a senior police official said.
“It is most likely that the SIT would summon Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao’s son Ashwin, the main accused in the case. In a few days the investigators would issue him a notice and ask him to appear before the investigating authority. The same will be done in the case of other accused in the case. But it will take few more days’ time as all the documents related to the scam have to be studied thoroughly. Also, the team will have to consult legal experts before making certain important decisions,” the official added.
Meanwhile, the process of forming the entire SIT is still on as the government is yet to give its nod to send several officials, suggested by the SIT Head, ADGP Kamal Pant, on deputation to the SIT.
