Mumbai: Several Bollywood celebrities including megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Kangana Ranaut and Alia Bhatt, among others attended the grand wedding reception of actor Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput at a five-star hotel in Mumbai.
While the couple's wedding ceremony in Delhi on July 7, was low-key and private, the reception in Mumbai last night at Palladium was a star-studded affair.
The 34-year-old "Haider" star looked dapper in a three-piece suit by close friend Kunal Rawal, who also designed his wedding outfit. His new bride, 21, looked stunning in a rose gold crop top and a blue and white long skirt, designed by Manish Malhotra. The couple arrived hand-in-hand and looked picture perfect.
Family members, Pankaj Kapoor, his wife Supriya Pathak, former wife Neelima Azim and her son Ishaan Khattar were also in attendance.
The reception decor was done by stylist Rachana Lucknowala of Vivaah wedding decor company. She had designed superstar Salman Khan's sister Arpita's wedding reception last year.
Bollywood presence also included Sonam Kapoor with father Anil Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and her brother Siddhant, Preity Zinta, Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Tusshar Kapoor, Anurag Kashyap, Genelia Deshmukh, Dia Mirza and Ratna Pathak Shah, who came with her sons Vivaan and Imaad.
Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, UTV Chief Siddharth Roy Kapoor, Bhushan Kumar, Ad guru Prahlad Kakkar and designer Masaba Gupta with husband were among other guests.
A few pictures from the party made their way online, and have been doing their rounds on several fan sites. Amitabh Bachchan took to his Facebook account to share pictures of himself congratulating a ‘star struck’ Mira Rajput Kapoor. Several other stars went on to post pictures from the bash, while others posted short messages to wish the newly-weded couple a blissful married life ahead.
On the work front, Shahid is busy with celebrity dance show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded". The actor will next be seen in "Udta Punjab" alongside Kareena and Alia, with whom he has also worked in the upcoming Vikas Bahl's film "Shaandaar".
He will be sharing screen space with Kangana and Saif Ali Khan in Vishal Bhardwaj's next "Rangoon".
