Exclusive: Not really friends but Salman Khan and John Abraham bond at 'ABCD 2' success bash

For those who don’t know, John is no more in Salman Khan’s bad book. But they aren’t even best of friends either. It’s a different thing that Salman Khan was very vocal about his displeasure about Welcome Back releasing the same day with Hero that will launch Sooraj and Aathiya. When he announced the release date on social media he had tweeted, “Back off… HERO coming on 4th September”.

At the recent success bash of ABCD 2 many movie actors partied with Varun Dhawan, who is slated to be the brightest star from the current lot. John Abraham and Salman Khan were also present at the party. But let’s get you a little history about the bad blood between the two and how things shaped up.

1 – In 2006, John and Salman had issues over payment during Rockstar stage show

2 – At that time, they were also acting together in Ravi Chopra’s Babul. The fact that they don’t see eye-to-eye was evident even on screen.

3 – While John worked with Salman Khan ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif in New York, Salman refused to work with John’s then girlfriend Bipasha Basu in a film to be directed by Abbas-Mastan.

4 – In 2010, Bipasha ended the cold war with Salman in Dubai. She reportedly walked to his room and had a long chat after an award function. They later did a film together.

5 -A couple of months later, Salman Khan dropped by to meet Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar on the sets of Desi Boyz. At that time, Akshay Kumar played peacemaker between the two.

6– To promote the same film, Akshay took John with him on the sets of Bigg Boss where Salman Khan was the host.

7 – Reportedly, till last year the two were making a film on wrestler Gama Pehalwan. Eventually, neither of the films went on floors.

8 – But things are not looking the same again as Hero, Salman Khan’s home production, will be clashing with Welcome Back.

Coming to the success party, John was already at the party when Salman Khan walked in. Salman came in much later and met everyone. An eyewitness told us, “ Salman and John met and hugged each other. They both spoke at length and they looked like having a serious conversation. It lasted for around 10 minutes before Salman moved on mingling with other guests.”
