We work for Telangana too, says FTAPPCI
Hyderabad: The Federation of Telangana and AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTAPCCI) has denied allegations made by some of its “disgruntled members” claiming that it is not promoting Telangana. Reacting to a news report in this newspaper, Ftapcci president Anil Reddy Vennam said that “the members of Ftapcci and the managing committee decided to represent both the states, i.e. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh... It was a conscious decision and therefore (we) cannot ignore any one of the states. Ftapcci is representing on various bodies of both the states and suggests both the governments in their trade and industrial policies.”
He also rejected allegations about rigging of the elections. “We wish to state that we are a Section 25 company (now Section 8 of the new Companies Act, 2013). The elections are held as per the norms of the Companies Act and the Articles of Association of Ftapcci.
The Companies Act provides exemption in the limit of number of directors to Section 8 companies.” Mr Reddy further claimed the “allegations were made to bring disrepute to this organisation.”The industry body has removed the page under head ‘Setting Up Business in AP’ on its home page on Sunday. On Friday, the page had provided the details of Andhra Pradesh industry department officials only. Clicking on the same link on Sunday showed the ‘Page Not Found’ message.
