Hyderabad: An email thread, dated February 12, 2014, said that M.M. Bhagwat, IPS, IGP, Intelligence and Security Wing B. Sumathi, IPS, SP, Counter Intelligence Cell, Intelligence K. Narayana Reddy, Addl. S.P, SIB, Intelligence P. Ravindra Prasad, inspector of police, CI Cell were named as the officials from Hyderabad visiting the Expo.
The TS governmentmust possess the equipments purchased then. An official named Daniel Maglietta of the Hacking Team based in Italy and Mr Prabhakar Kasu, CEO of Ortus Consulting firm from Hyderabad, had a series of email and skype conversations in June regarding the new deal of the AP government.
In a conversation on June 12, Mr Prabhakar stated, “Sorry for disturbing you during your call. As I had mentioned during our call, I am proposing cellular interception hardware solutions for urgent need in a South Indian state. Please give me an estimate on costs so I will share it with client (AP Police Intel).”
The cost of the equipments was expected to be $1 and $1.2 million, the email revealed.
AP finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu denied reports stating that Wikileaks have officially stated it was a false report.
