Telangana industry gets the power boost
Hyderabad: The industrial sector which has seen no power holidays and unscheduled cuts over the last six to seven months have finally started looking up. While the power problem has been sorted out, investments and expansions have started pouring in.
Industry insiders point out that the improved power situation has actually sent out positive signals to other states and this is visible at various exhibitions and conferences.
“The power situation has been completely sorted out and the sector is getting 24x7 power. The commercial sector is also getting good supply since the summer. Over the last three years, many industrial units especially the smaller ones were dying and this had led to negative propaganda in other states, affecting orders. With the power situation improving, the scenario has changed drastically,” said V. Anil Reddy, president, Federation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
From being on the brink of bankruptcy, many industries especially in the MSME sector has come out stronger, as power cuts and power holidays had meant huge losses to the sector.
The improved power situation has eased the financial burden of alternate power arrangements, cutting down on operating costs by 60 per cent or more.
