Andhra Pradesh plans to buy tapping device
Andhra Pradesh Govt. denied buying the equipment or tapping phones of any politician

Hyderabad: The Telangana Advocates’ Joint Action Committee on Saturday lodged a complaint with the police against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for attempts to buy a phone tapping equipment.
Advocate Govardhan Reddy, the complainant, alleged that AP government was trying to snoop on Telangana State. The West Zone police, who got the complaint, said no case was booked and action will be taken only after a legal opinion is sought on the petition.
The complaint was based on an email between a Hyderabad-based private firm and a foreign firm indicating attempts of the AP police to buy phone tapping hardware from an Italian hacking firm.
The email, which was leaked by Wikileaks, sent on June 12 stated that the cellular interception hardware was needed urgently for AP Police Intelligence Wing. The conversations indicated that the company officials were visiting Hyderabad on July 6 to give a demo of the hardware and finalise the deal.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government denied buying the equipment or tapping phones of any politician. Another email of a Hacking Team in 2014 indicated that they had clinched a deal with the united Andhra Pradesh government and cops visited an exhibition of the company in Dubai.
