Titles formed using the first letters of the names of characters in the film — but without having a direct bearing to the script — are quite in vogue nowadays in Kollywood! We first saw Jothi Krishna’s Oo La La La which was an acronym standing for the names Oorvasi, Latha, Lalitha and Lavanya from the movie, as well as Itli inspired from Inbha, Twinkle, Lilli — the characters played Saranya, Kovai Sarala and Kalpana. More recently, there’s VSOP, standing for Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga.
Now the latest one to join the list is the Tamil remake of Mollywood blockbuster Bangalore Days! The movie which features Arya, Rana Daggubati, Bobby Simha, Sri Divya and Parvathy Menon, directed by Bommarilu Bhaskar, has been titled ADMK.
When queried about the political association, the makers explained that ADMK means Arjun, Divya Mattrum Karthik — from the names of the characters essayed by the lead cast.
