Madurai Sambavam fame Harikumar is currently busy with his next film, Madurai Manikuravan, in which he plays a dual role that of a Kuravan, and the other a police inspector.Talking about the film, Harikumar says that he didn’t really want to do Madurai-based scripts as it looks like he’s repeating the kinds of roles he has been doing it before.
“I actually had a Coimbatore-based script on hands, but ended up doing this,” he says. However, Harikumar doesn’t believe in comparing his previous projects his current ones. Talking about the Madurai Manikuravan, he says the film is based on Manikuravar, who actually lived in Madurai. “But it isn’t entirely based on him. We have just used his name for the title. Though real life incidents have been used in this film, we have fictionalised the characters in accordance with the preference of current audiences,” he says.
Harikumar says that this film will showcase his ability as an actor as he’s donning the khaki, which is something he loves doing. The actor, who already has movies set for release, like Sankarapuram and Kadhal Agathee, says he’s planning to direct films as well.
