ISL Auction 2015: Top kicks rake in crores at auction

Chhetri went to Mumbai City FC for Rs1.20 crore,Lyngdoh went to FC Pune City for Rs1.05 crore

Mumbai: India skipper Sunil Chhetri was expectedly the most expensive buy in the inaugural players auction of the Indian Super League but it was his Bengaluru FC team mate Eugeneson Lyngdoh who invoked intense bidding and maximum interest from the clubs.

Chhetri carrying a base price of Rs 80 lakh was snapped up by Mumbai City FC for Rs1.20 crore. Lyngdoh went to FC Pune City for a whopping Rs1.05 crore after bidding interest from as many as five clubs. He had a base price of Rs 27.50 lakh.

Rino Anto and Thoi Singh were the others most in demand. Atletico de Kolkata shelled out Rs 90 lakh for 27-year-old right back Anto to strengthen their defence. Thoi also received aggressive bidding from three clubs before Chennayin FC bought him for Rs86 lakh earning him great incentive from a base price of Rs 39 lakh.
