T Srinivas Yadav not to go before GHMC polls

Sanathnagar bypoll still a long way off
Hyderabad: Barring the acceptance of resignation of commercial taxes minister and Sanathnagar MLA, T. Srinivas Yadav by the Speaker, bypolls to Sanathnagar Assembly constituency looks remote till the completion of GHMC polls.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is keen on wresting GHMC seats in alliance with the MIM and is doing a lot of ground work towards this. Mr Yadav resigned from his primary membership of the TD and also as MLA on December 16, 2014, joined the TRS and took oath as minister for commercial taxes in the Cabinet. Mr Yadav who was elected on a TD ticket announced he had sent his resignation to Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary and said he was ready to face by polls whenever it is held.
Though seven months have elapsed, his resignation is yet to be accepted and he continues to be TD MLA in official records. The TD and other parties have been targeting the CM and TRS government on this ‘unhealthy trend’ and flouting of anti-defection laws and complained to even the President of India, but no action has been taken. “I submitted my resignation as primary member of the TD and also as Sanathnagar MLA. The Speaker has to take a decision,” Nr Yadav has reiterated.
The CM inducted him in the Cabinet to hold sway over GHMC and also to strengthen the TRS in city. With GHMC polls delayed due to a delimitation process, sources said Mr Yadav’s resignation will not be accepted till the completion of GHMC elections, which is likely to be held in January 2016.
After acceptance of his resignation he will have six months to get re-elected. The question of bypoll does not arise till the resignation is accepted. Bypoll is likely only after GHMC elections, a TRS leader said.
Despite this, Mr Yadav and ex-Congress MLA M. Shashidhar Reddy are wooing voters in the Assembly. Mr Reddy complained to the President against the Governor for inducting him in the Cabinet.
