TDP legislator Revanth Reddy says TRS eyeing bribes

It alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was whipping up emotions again through bandhs as TRS nominees lost to the TD in the recent panchayat polls. Telangana TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy, an accused in the cash-for-vote scam, who is camping at his native Kodangal Assembly constituency, said AP wanted the TS government to take permission from the Central Water Commission, Krishna River Management Board and the apex council before launching them.

Expressing surprise at the TRS calling a bandh, he alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was taking up new irrigation projects under the guidance of YSR atma Dr K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao for the sake of commissions.

“Mr Naidu did not ask the CWC to stop the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy and Nakkalagandi lift irrigation schemes. He only complained that the TS government did not seek permission from the CWC. A bandh call after one month of the AP letter indicates that the TRS government is attempting to misguide people to cover up its follies,” he alleged.

Mr Revanth Reddy said 8 lakh acres would get irrigation facilities in Mahbubnagar if the government spends Rs 1,000 crore on Kalvakurthy, Nettampadu, Bheema and Koilasagar projects. Instead, the government is focussing on the Rs 35,200 crore Palamuru project for commission sake.

“KCR knows only new projects can ensure commissions. YSR atma (KVP) is helping him get commissions from the Palamuru Lift and Pranahita Chevella projects with changed designs and other new schemes. Is it not true that KTR and Kavita met KVP in New Delhi and he met KVP secretly at Gachibowli recently," he alleged.

KCR, he alleged, was also playing a balancing act to ensure projects and money for son panchayat raj minister K.T. Rama Rao and nephew irrigation minister T. Harish Rao. "He ensured the Rs 60,000 crore water grid scheme for KTR and other projects for Harish Rao so that both can share the booty. Differences between the two is the root cause for KCR's frequent fever," he quipped.

Commercial establishments, cinema halls, education institutions and others downed shutters while RTC buses were off the road. TRS activists burnt effigies of Mr Naidu across the district and also staged dharnas.

“The bandh was total. We condemn Mr Naidu’s attempts to stall the irrigation projects that will benefit parched and fluoride hit Mahbubnagar, Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda districts,” B. Shiva Kumar, TRS Mahabubnagar district president said.
