Chennai: The Department of Media Arts at Loyola College felicitated the cast and crew of the multiple award winning film, Kakka Muttai on Friday. The audience, consisting mostly of aspiring film makers, was eager to interact with the director and actors of a film which has taken the country by storm.

Speaking at the event, Director Manikandan said, “This film took very long to get made, simply because I wasn’t ready to make any compromises to the story line. Many different producers offered me more money just to add a romantic track but I refused. It is important to believe in yourself and the story.” He also added how he and producers Vetrimaran and Dhanush were hoping that the film would get selected by at least one film festival and ended up getting selected by nine.

A lot of praise and appreciation was also showered on the actors in the film, actress Aishwarya, actress Shanta Mani and especially the main leads of the film - wide-eyed Vignesh and Ramesh, who still seemed shy of the limelight even after all the attention they’ve received since he film released. After answering several questions from the excited audience, director Manikandan advised the aspirants to just follow their dreams and to never give up when faced with obstacles.
