Hyderabad High Court gives priority to JNTU plea

The order of the judge has become an obstacle to carry out web counselling for admission to engineering courses
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday said that it will give priority to the appeals of the JNTU Hyderabad and will hear it from Monday. Appearing for the varsity before a division bench comprising acting chief justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt Telangana advocate-general K. Ramakrishna Reddy said the single judge had erroneously concluded that the JNTU has no power to refuse affiliation to colleges which did not have even minimum infrastructure.
The order of the judge has become an obstacle to carry out web counselling for admission to engineering courses. He said that they cannot allow colleges that lack infrastructure to take part in the admission process. Counsel for the AICTE also said that the order of the single judge was against the spirit of Supreme Court’s directions.
