Hyderabad: Congress leaders staged a rasta roko on Friday at the busy LB Nagar crossroads halting traffic for an hour. The Congress leaders staged the rasta roko demanding action against tainted BJP Chief Ministers and Union Ministers who have been involved in the Vyapam and Lalit Modi scams.
They also raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for keeping mum on all the scams burnt his effigy. AICC secretary R.C. Kuntia, TPCC leaders N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Shabbir Ali, Danam Nagender, Rajya Sabha MP V. Hanumantha Rao, Balaram Naik, T. Jeevan Reddy and scores of party workers reached the Chintalakunta check post area in the morning and staged a sit-in on the national highway.
After coming to know of the Congress leaders’ move, the police reached the spot and took the leaders into custody. Traffic was restored only after the leaders courted arrest.
