Hyderabad: Nineteen-year-old Akash Mishra is on a mission to spread awareness about the world around us. And he’s currently on a 3,000km round trip from Indore in Madhya Pradesh to Chennai, Tamil Nadu — on a bicycle! For the return journey, Mishra is planning to hitch-hike his way back.
He started his journey from his hometown (Indore) on July 8 and travelled all the way to Amravati, Yavatmal, Adilabad and Hyderabad. After this, it’s Tamil Nadu — for the International Youth NGO’s Summit, where Mishra has been invited to speak. Over 100 countries are participating in the event and the young man will be talking about all that he has seen during his pedal tour of the country.
“For example, Yavatmal, in AP, I found that there is a serious lack of sanitary education amongst the people. I want to raise awareness on this by holding awareness campaigns in the district. I hope my ride inspires and makes a difference.”
