Kottakkal sex abuse: Medical test proves minor was raped
KOZHIKODE: The medical examination on the 11-year-old Kottakkal girl on Thursday confirmed that she was allegedly raped by her 18-year-old stepbrother.
She is the sister of the 13-year-old girl who allegedly brought into flesh trade by her mother and stepfather two years back.
The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) will take a decision in the case of their 9-year-old brother who had been also allegedly sodomized by him. The boy is yet to undergo medical tests.
It was during a counselling by Childline volunteers that the two revealed that they had sexually assaulted several times by their step-brother.
Malappuram CWC chairman Sharif Ullattil said they had short-listed two names to assist the legal proceedings in both the cases.
The list had being submitted to the district judge and, according to sources, Adv P. M. Safarulla would be one of them.
The police is in the lookout for four persons who allegedly raped the 13-year-old. Two of them were identified by the girl. One of them is suspected to have left the country.
The police has so far arrested 12 people including their mother and stepfather.
The mother had confessed that, with the support of her husband, she had presented the elder girl to several people taking an amount of around Rs 3,000 per person.
The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights also sought a report on the issue from the Malappuram Superintendent of Police within 10 days.
