Unprecedented arrangements are being made for his visit to Dharmapuri
KARIMNAGAR: Unprecedented arrangements are being made for Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s visit to Dharmapuri on July 14. Mr Rao will take a holy dip in river Godavari near Dharmapuri on the occasion of commencement of Pushkaralu on that day, as promised by him during the hustings.
He also mentioned of taking a holy dip at Dharmapuri while taking part in Telanganaku Harita Haram programme held in Dharmaram mandal, recently. In 2003, he promised to make an offering to the presiding deity, if Telangana was accorded statehood and he is likely to fulfil it now. The district administration is sweating it out to ensure that the visit goes off smoothly.
A new building meant for Harita hotel of the Tourism department is being built on a war-footing to provide accommodation to the chief minister. The works on the hotel are being done round-the-clock to ensure completion by the time Mr Rao arrives at the place. At present, air conditioners are being installed in the building. The building will be inaugurated by Finance and Civil Supplies minister Etela Rajender on July 11.
The chief minister will arrive at Dharmapuri on July 13 evening. Works relating to a bathing ghat dedicated to very important persons (VIPs) are being carried out at a faster pace. Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao would take a holy dip in the river at this ghat. Erection of sprinklers and rooms for changing dress have already been done at the ghat.
Officials of the ancient Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Dharmapuri are busy identifying vedic pundits and priests to accord a ceremonious welcome to Mr. Rao and perform other rituals.
12-day holiday for schools on banks:
District collector Neetu Prasad declared holidays to educational institutions, run by the state government and private managements, located near the banks of river Godavari from July 13 to 25, in view of Pushkaralu. She said that the institutions would be remained closed during this period.
The educational institutions identified for remaining closed are in Erdandi, Komati Kondapur, Mularampur, Vemulakurthi, Yamapur, Fakirkondapur of Ibrahimpatnam mandal and Valgonda, Kotha Damrajpalli, Patha Damrajpalli, Obulapur, Mogilipet, Vempalli and Venkatraopet in Mallapur mandal.
Similarly, schools and colleges in Bornapalli of Raikal mandal, Kamanpur in Sarangapur mandal, Dharmapuri, Rayapatnam and Timmapur in Dharmapuri mandal, Kotilingala of Velgatur mandal, Anthargaon and Ramagundam in Ramagundam mandal, Sundilla in Kamanpur mandal and others in Manthani and Kaleshwaram mandals would be shut down at the time of Pushkaralu. A large number of pilgrims are expected from the country and abroad are expected to visit the state.
