Madhya Pradesh Governor’s name was in FIR filed by SIT
Digvijay Singh on Wednesday questioned the reason behind continuing with Mr Yadav

New Delhi: One of the accused in the Vyapam scam, Veerpal Singh, had alleged in an FIR that he had handed over Rs 3 lakhs to the Governor’s son, Shailesh Yadav, for nearly 10 students who intended to cheat in the qualifying examinations for government teachers.
The transaction allegedly took place at the Governor’s official residence. Both the Governor and his son were named in the FIR by the Special Task Force.
However, the High Court later ruled that the Governor could not be investigated while he held office.
After this, in March this year, his son was found dead in Lucknow. Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Wednesday questioned the reason behind continuing with Mr Yadav.
He noted after coming to power the BJP government was quick to replace all UPA-appointed governors but did not touch Ram Naresh Yadav. Mr Singh said the Governor “must be investigated”. He also wondered if the BJP was afraid that any action against the Governor might just boomerang as he could ‘spill the beans’.
