JNTU-Hyderabad moves Hyderabad High Court challenging order

The Bench said it would take up the hearing if the appeals were listed before it on Thursday
Hyderabad: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad moved the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday challenging the order of a single judge directing it to grant temporary affiliation and include certain private engineering colleges in web counselling for admissions into engineering courses for the academic year 2015-16.
The writ appeals are likely to be taken up for hearing by a division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt on Thursday.
The single judge, in his order, had found fault with JNTU-H in rejecting affiliation to many engineering colleges in Telangana and also for reducing the intake capacity approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.
On Wednesday morning, K. Ramakrishna Reddy, advocate-general of Telangana, had made special mention before the bench to take up the writ appeals as counselling was likely to get delayed in view of the order of the single judge.
The Bench said it would take up the hearing if the appeals were listed before it on Thursday.
