Vijayawada/Visakhapatnam/Guntur: A day after MPs Kesineni Srinivas, Sujana Chowdary and K. Narayana’s scathing counter to actor-politician Pawan Kalyan, Jana Sena activists spilled onto the roads, staging protests at various places.
The activists demanded that the MPs tender an unconditional and immediate apology. In Vijayawada, they challenged Mr Srinivas to resign and contest against a Jana Sena candidate if he disagreed with the “fact that it was the actor who brought the Telugu Desam to power”.
In Visakhapatnam, the protesters said that it was everybody’s right to question the MPs for their failure to secure special category status for AP. The protesters told the MPs that they should stop taking potshots at the actor’s personal life, and instead react to his suggestions that he made keeping AP’s welfare in view. Pawan Kalyan is only reminding elected representatives of their duties, the Jana Sena activists said.
