Jaipur: However, in a strong rebuttal, the victim’s father, Hanuman Khandelwal, alleged that it was the actress-MP’s Mercedes that had been speeding above 100 kmph when his car was hit. “My mistake was that I was driving at a very slow speed and her car was at high speed,” he said.

“I feel very sad that Hemaji, an MP, has such a small ‘soch’ (thinking) that she tweeted that I was not following traffic rules,” said Mr Khandelwal, adding, “Rather than accusing me of overspeeding, Hemaji should have thought that had my daughter been taken to hospital with her she would have been alive today.”

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission has issued notices to the state police and local authorities seeking a detailed report on the car accident after taking cognisance of media reports in which the girl’s father claimed her life could have been saved had she been rushed to a private hospital along with the actress. The commission issued the notices Tuesday.

“The commission took cognisance of (media) reports and issued the notices to the SP and district CMHO seeking a detailed report of the incident,” commission member M.K. Devrajan said.
