AIS officers allocation next week
The final allocation of AIS officers between Telangana and AP will be completed next week
Hyderabad: The final allocation of the All India Service (AIS) officers between Telangana and AP will be completed next week. The chief secretaries of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will meet the Centre-appointed Prathyush Sinha Committee in New Delhi on July 10, seeking resolution of pending issues. Both states are likely to seek swapping of some IAS, IPS officers between them.
A case to point is GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar, who continues to work for TS even after being allotted to AP a few months ago. The TS government wants to seek TS cadre for Mr Kumar and in return, it is ready to swap an IAS officer with AP. Telangana is also keen to seek TS cadre for senior IAS officer Ms Poonam Malakondaiah.
Andhra Pradesh too wants to retain some IAS and IPS officers, the names of whom have been kept confidential. The Prathyush Sinha Committee had made provisional allocations twice, in August and December last year. It had come out with a final list in March this year. However, both governments are seeking changes in the final allotment and have proposed swapping of officials for the purpose.
