Anantapur: Factional rivalry cases, with which Rayalaseema region is rife, saw a twist when family members of a murdered person buried his body in front of the killer's ho-use at Motichintamanu Tanda in Tanakal mandal in Anantapur district, in order to shame the latter. The incident came to light on Wednesday.
Sources said, K. Venugopal Naik, 35, of Motichintamanu Tanda in Tanakal mandal was found murdered and his body was identified at C. G. Project in Tanakal mandal on July 3. Police registered a case and conducted an autopsy at Kadiri hospital and handed over the mortal remains to the family members.
After investigation, Tanakal police arrested Mallikarjuna Naik and Ravindra Naik of same village, for the homicide. The kith and kin of the deceased decided to bury the dead body in front of the accused’s house to teach him a lesson by reminding him of his criminal act every day.
Hence, Venugopal Nai-k’s body was buried ba-ng opposite the main en-trance of Mallikarjuna Naik's house on Sunday and last rites were performed as per the traditions and customs at the spot. The family members of accused Mallikarjuna Naik, however, fled from the village when the rivals performed last rites.
