Lenovo to enter the smartwatch race with two-screens

Lenovo has already been in the smartwatch market with Motorola 360

Tech giant Lenovo has shown off a unique smartwatch, which will bring a twist to the wearable smart watch market. The smartwatch concept displayed by Lenovo will feature two display screens, one below the other, which will extend below the main dial on to the strap.

At the first-ever global tech event, Lenovo Tech World, The tech giant showed off a prototype of the unique concept smartwatch, dubbed as Magic View, which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset. While other smartwatches have a limitation as to how much they can cram into a single small dial, Lenovo has managed to extend this view to the strap. The Magic View will sport a regular round display, but on the band beneath the round screen is a Virtual Interactive Display (VID). When you look at this display, it appears as a large screen image, almost 20 times bigger than the actual display. You can view photos, videos and maps on this screen, which is powered by the Snapdragon Adreno 306 GPU.

The second display screen is basically a private display, where you need to look into it (more like a camera’s view finder) so that you can see the display larger than normal. Though the product is in its infancy, the technology will take a while to go full-fledge. Check out the videos below to know what the technology is all about:

Apart from the Magic View, Lenovo also showed off other smart devices (concepts), such as smart shoes that incorporate sensors to track the wearer’s biometrics and activity and also reflect the user’s mood on a small screen. A Smart Cast was also in line, which is a phone that doubles up as a laser projector—allowing a user to have a virtual touch screen in the nearest table’s surface.
