Someone posted Mr Al-Asiri's pictures on social media a month ago and the photo went viral due to his facial similarities to Mr Chandy.
Soon, Mr Al-Asiri was spotted by a few Keralites who showed him pictures of Mr Chandy. An amused Al-Asiri expressed his desire to meet the Kerala Chief Minister.
A close aide of Mr Chandy is reported to have said that the chief minister was also amused when he saw Mr Al-Asiri's photos.
"The chief minister would be only glad to meet Al-Asiri if he wishes to come here to meet him (Chandy)," the paper quoted the aide as saying.
Another look-alike of Mr Chandy was also spotted in Canada recently.
