Jagan Mohan Reddy accuses Chandrababu Naidu of harassing YSRC
Anantapur: YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy came down heavily on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for misusing power to harass MLAs of opposite party at Kurnool on Friday.
Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy met Nandyal MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy, who was admitted to the government hospital in Kurnool after his arrest on Friday.
He was booked under Sections of 353 and 506 and also SC/ST Atrocity Act after he allegedly behaved in a brash manner with a police officer during MLC polling at Nandyal. After meeting his party MLA at Kurnool hospital, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy accused the TD of harassing opponents and said booking Mr Bhuma Nagi Reddy under SC/ ST case was politically motivated.
Referring to the conversation of Mr Nagi Reddy and the DSP at the polling station, Mr Jagan pointed out that police booked a case under SC/ST against the MLA for asking them not to touch him.
"Do not touch me," the words used by Mr Nagi Reddy were to stop the police personnel from pushing him from the venue, added Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The YSRC chief also found fault with the police for not shifting Mr Nagi Reddy to NIMS, Hyderabad, on grounds that it was in another state and instead admitted him to Kurnool hospital. "But, how Mr Chandrababu Nadu resides at Hyderabad enjoying all powers," he pointed out and further added that TD's rule will not be permanent.
