After carving out a niche as an artist, AP Shreethar, who donned the grease paint for Andhra Mess, is trying out his hands in film production now. He has taken on the avatar of a producer for a Tamil flick which is titled Maiem. Naveen Sanjay, Kumaran Thangarajan, Jai Quehani, Robo Shankar Pooja form the main cast.
Apparently, ‘Maiem’ is the name of a magazine published by actor Kamal Haasan. That Shreethar shares a close bond with Kamal is a common knowledge. Shreethar, an ardent fan of Kamal, regularly draws portraits of the Ulaganayagan and presents them to him.
In this regard, it is not surprising for Shreethar to get permission from Kamal to use the title Maiem for his maiden production venture. “The title is very relevant to the script as well,” says Shreethar who adds, “I went and met Kamal sir and took his permission as well as blessings.”
