India will be going to Zimbabwe without a leg spinner after Karn Sharma was ruled out due to a fractured finger in his left hand. India will now have only 14 players to pick from for the three ODIs and two T20s, as BCCI didn’t name any replacement for Karn.
New Indian skipper Ajinkya Rahane is now left with only two spinning options in off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and left-armer Axar Patel for the three-match ODI series followed by two T20 Internationals.
Rahane said he wasn’t yet consulted for the replacement but felt choosing playing XI from even 14-member squad wouldn’t be easy for him. “It is up to the selectors to decide,” he said.
