Vyapam scam: Asking PM to answer on 'silly issue' is unfair, says Sadananda Gowda
The deaths are a matter of concern, but law and order is state subject, says Gowda
Udaipur: Union Law Minister Sadananda Gowda on Tuesday said that the concerned ministers and party president have given their responses with regard to the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh, and added that for each 'silly issue', asking the Prime Minister to answer was unfair.
"The state has initiated probe. The deaths are a matter of concern, but law and order is state subject. See, the Prime Minister need not answer on silly issues," Gowda said. "The concerned ministers and party president have answered. For each silly issue asking the Prime Minister to answer is not fair," he added.
The Congress Party has been demanding a fair and transparent probe into the 2013 scam and the immediate removal of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from office. The Supreme Court has also agreed to hear a petition against Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav to ensure a fair inquiry into the Vyapam scam. The matter is scheduled to be heard on July 9.
