ARMOOR (NIZAMABAD): Union minister of state for environment Prakash Javadekar said that people should plant saplings with team spirit and protect them like a child.
The Centre is ready to extend financial aid to states for mass plantation programmes, he said.
The Union minister addressed public meetings at Mothe, Velpur, Armoor along with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in Haritha Haaram programme on Monday.
He flew by helicopter to Velpur and planted saplings. Mr Javadekar said that Telangana State will be inspirational for massive sapling plantation programme in the country.
He appreciated the initiative of TRS government, particularly the Chief Minister. K. Chandrasekhar Rao for Haritha Haaram programme, which is aimed to plant huge number of saplings.
He said that union government is giving utmost importance to increase green coverage in the country.
