MLC election result to be declared by 11 am
Vote counting will start at 8 am and complete at 11 am
Ongole: All arrangements have been made by the district administration to count votes for MLC election in Ongole Municipal Corporation office on July 7. Vote counting will start at 8 am and complete at 11 am. Officials have already conducted training classes for those deputed for vote counting in the MLC election.
District collector Sujatha Sharma, joint collector and MLC election returning officer Dr M. Hari Jawaharlal and superintendent of police Ch. Srikant on Monday inspected the arrangements made for counting of votes in the municipal corporation hall and made some suggestions too.
The police has imposed Section 144 as a precautionary measure which will come into force from Tuesday morning near the municipal corporation office. Vehicles plying on the OMC Road would be diverted later till completion of vote counting. Dr M. Hari Jawaharlal said, "Vote counting will start at 8 am and will be completed at 11 am on July 7. As soon as counting is completed, we will announce the result."
Ch. Srikant said, "A three-tier security arrangement has been arranged at the counting centre and Section 144 will come into force from Tuesday morning. I have instructed to divert the traffic near the OMC office surroundings."
Meanwhile, the ruling TD leaders seem confident of winning the election, while opposition YSRC is alleging that the TD purchased their MPTCs.
