Hyderabad: IIIT-Hyderabad has signed a MoU with the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) to carry forward the outreach activities of Virtual Labs.
The MoU was signed by Telangana IT minister K.T. Rama Rao on behalf of Task as part of ‘Digital Telangana Week’.
Virtual Labs is a consortium of 12 leading technical institutions of India, viz. IIT-Delhi, IIT-Bombay, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Kharagpur, IIT-Roorkee, IIT-Guwahati, IIT-Madras, IIIT-Hyderabad, Amrita University, Dayalbagh University, College of Engineering, Pune, and NIT Surathkal.
As per the MoU both parties will work closely to reach out to all engineering colleges in Telangana to improve the quality of education in these colleges through the use of Virtual Labs and other technical training programmes.
Another MoU was signed between the state government and NASSCOM Foundation to partner for the state-wide roll out of the National Digital Literacy Mission and make at least one person per household digitally literate across TS.
On Monday, Mr Rama Rao also unveiled the logo of TITA Telangana Digithon, a digital literacy initiative by the Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) at the JNTU-H auditorium.
The minister also launched the websites of Bhadrachalam and Yadadri temples for the benefit of devotees.
Three services pertaining to the endowments department were launched through Mee Seva at Yadadri in Nalgonda district and at Bhadrachalam in Khammam district.
The services are Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy vari Devasthanam, sevas booking, rooms and accommodation booking, Sree Seetha Rama Chandraswami vari Devasthanam and sevas booking.
