Simran is a big plus for the movie: G V Prakash

He tells DC how he managed to direct the film after narrating the script to 38 producers
Twenty six year old Adhik Ravichandran, who’s directing GV Prakash in his debut film Trisha Illana Nayanthara (TIN), can finally heave a sigh of relief. He tells DC how he managed to direct the film after narrating the script to 38 producers. “I believed in myself and my script, and approached a lot of producers. But somehow, things became favourable only after two years,” he says.
Adhik says that TIN is about the importance of not giving up hope after a break-up. “The story traces the life of GV Prakash’s character from school, college and thereafter. The plot will be relatable for many,” he adds.
Adhik is happy that his film has been getting a lot of attention from the youth and the industry. “It was a conscious decision to rope in stars like Priya Anand, Simran ma’am and Arya as a part of the film. Arya said, ‘No actor would do this role in the film’, but somehow agreed to do it in the film for me,” he laughs.
The young director is totally in awe of actress Simran and says her role would be a big plus in the movie. “Ma’am has undergone a makeover in the film. She’s quite down-to-earth and agreed to do the role 15 minutes into our meeting, which is a huge thing for me,” smiles Adhik.
When asked if he took Trisha or Nayanthara’s permission to use their names in his title, he says, “I met Nayanthara and read her the script. I assured her that it's only her name, and the movie has nothing to do with her personal life. I couldn’t meet Trisha, though.” Adhik says he’s here to make solid commercial films and I am here to stay. I have three scripts ready and wanted to direct Ajith. That’s one of my biggest dreams,” he signs off.
