Remo’s already planning ABCD 3

Remo is proud of spearheading the revival of dance films as a genre in Bollywood

ABCD 2 has not even made its way out of the theatres, but director Remo D’Souza is already thinking about the next film in the franchise. “I think Siddharth Roy Kapur (of UTV, the producers of ABCD 2) is planning a (success) party. And yes, I am now thinking about the next ABCD film,” Remo confirmed. “All we know right now is that it has to be even bigger in every sense than the second film.”

Remo is proud of spearheading the revival of dance films as a genre in Bollywood. “Prior to ABCD, dance films hadn’t been made for a long time. According to me, the real dance films in Hindi cinema were V Shantaram’s Navrang, Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje and Jal Bin Machli Nritya Bin Bijli. After these, there was a lull,” he says.
Unlike Farah Khan, Remo will continue to choreograph select songs for other filmmakers while directing his feature films. “I will only be choreographing for filmmakers when I think I can do something special. I am doing a song in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale because I’ll get to work with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol for the first time,” Remo says.
