India eves look to bounce back against New Zealand in fourth ODI
Bengaluru: After frittering away the opportunity to clinch a direct berth in the 2017 World Cup, the India eves will now have to go through the qualification process for the big event even as they look to save the series against the New Zealand women in their fourth clash of the five-match ODIs to be played here on Monday.
Owing to a dismal on-field show in the last two encounters, which has seen them slip to 1-2 in the series, the Mithali Raj-led side need to come up with a better show to bounce back at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Meanwhile, Suzie Bates’ team, playing in tough, alien conditions staged a remarkable comeback after losing the first match. With back-to-back wins owing to a combined effort, the visitors have gained momentum and it will be a daunting task for the hosts to break their fine run. India have so far banked heavily on former skipper Jhulan Goswami to fire while Thirush Kamini and Veda Krishnamurthy have too made their willow talk.
